Have you ever felt like someone is living your dreams and doing it better than you ever imagined? You see the person and you feel like, “that should be me…” The person seems to be living the life you thought could be yours. You are not alone, a lot of people have felt that way at a point in life… We are still human, and at the end of the day it’s okay to want more out of life, to dream about a better place and to desire a greater sense of fulfillment
But the question is this; what are you going to do about it? About this stranger? Bearing in mind that this stranger could be a colleague or even a sibling having a better career, marriage, business, home, and any other accessories. What are your feelings going to be? What actions will you take?
Resentment, anger, envy, jealousy, self-pity, blame game, despondency, hate, evil speaking, defamation….? The list of what the devil will have you feel and do is endless but it’s your choice to either succumb or go higher. You can put a halt on the pity party and rise up to the challenge. The journey of a thousand yards starts with a step they say and it is true. It’s never too late to start.
The stranger didn’t get those shoes in a day. Take those baby steps towards living your own dreams. I know it can be overwhelming to see how far that stranger has come and you wonder if you can ever get there, but you know what? A day at a time and you will get there, and even if you do not reach the peak when the time is up, you’ll know you didn’t give up, you’ll know you did the best you could have done with the resources at your disposal.
Make a move to achieve that dream as the opportunity arises because the truth is this; that stranger isn’t wearing your shoes but theirs. Make your own shoe and be proud of your effort.
