Hello Adebimpe. It’s been a long time coming… you are probably wondering about where I am now. I can’t tell you specifically but I can say this; contrary to your fears, there is still some good in this world. God has been gracious and merciful to you.
You made some mistakes along the way but you learned from them and they didn’t pull you down again. Don’t try to preempt yourself for what is gonna happen because you can’t do it by yourself. God is the only one that can help you paddle the dark waters.
I know you just failed an exam and you are preparing to write another. You are anxious if your hard work and sleepless nights spent in studying will pay off this time around? Yes, it will. Keep pushing, keep studying, hold on to your righteousness and diligence. It will pay off. I know it will because I have seen it. I’ve been there.
You can climb any Mountain. All you need is a will. Let me tell you a secret😉 This became your slogan over the years; “when there is a will there will be a way.” You are stronger than you know. Your will is great and your drive is your faith. With these two you are unstoppable.
Speaking about faith… Don’t trade it for silver or gold. Keep having faith in your redeemer. He will deliver you from the great temptations, He will hold you back from defilement, He will give you strength for the journey. All that you need is with the Saviour. Never barter your faith in Jesus for a lifetime of fame because it won’t totally satisfy your soul. You know why? I’ve been there and I know it’s not worth your soul.
I know you do not know how the future looks, but I’ve been there and I can tell you it is beautiful even in the midst of unrest in the big world; because Christ in us is the hope of glory.
I know you have no idea how you are going to make your way in this wide world. You sometimes feel insignificant when you see the sea of people on Que for the same thing that you also want and you can’t help but wonder if it will ever be your turn. A lot of times you wonder if anyone can even see you or hear you? It seems you are lost in the multitude.
Don’t be intimidated. He that dwells and walks with you is greater than the policies in high places. He will bend protocols for you; He will favor you out of thousands and lift up your head. Don’t sweat it. Your mind can’t comprehend how He will do it so don’t even try. He is the way maker, He will move mountains for you. The future is way better than you can visualize… Smile darling.
I know you think there is no helper in view. You worry night and day about who will help you get to where you wanna go, where you know you can get to. Worry less, my dear. The Lord will help you at every junction. Just at the nick of time, He will show up for you.
I have seen it. He set up good men all along your way to support you and help you. You will be just fine.
I know you worry so much over your siblings. Worry less, their redeemer is alive. He will take care of each one along the way. I can tell you this with certainty because the Word of the Lord says He will keep all that you commit into His hands. Your family included.
I know you are lonely. Friends have stabbed you in the back, turn their backs on you, forsaken you and you are presumably wondering if you will ever have that friend with whom you can be yourself. A child of God who will mind the things you mind, have your back regardless, laugh and cry with you, love you without a secret agenda. A friend who is comfortable in your silence as in your laughter. Someone who will fight with you but never let go.
A friend who will never say goodbye, in whom’s embrace you will ever be welcome.
Guess what darling. You did. You found her. And some more… The pilgrim’s journey is sweeter with these companions.
Always remember that the life of a girl or a woman for that matter does not consist of the number of the clothes or shoes she possesses. Your scanty and ragged wardrobe isn’t a determinant for the height that God has planned for you. A time of abundance will come, just like your big sis says; “Gbogbo ohun ti ko to un bo wa se ku; The insufficient will be abundant later.” How do I know? I’ve been there.
Don’t be deterred…
I know you are keeping yourself for that right man. You have so much love in your heart to shower on him. Be patient darling… He that will come will come and will not tarry. He will surely come for you. A man after God’s own heart. He will make you smile, teach you to see the brighter side of life and show you what the Love of Christ truly is.
I know what you want to ask me next. How will you know when he comes?
You will have an assurance in your heart. A replica of what you felt at salvation. Deep within your heart, the Spirit of God will bear witness that He is God’s beloved for you.
Remember, emotions are powerful. Don’t let it rule you. Keep it under. Wait for the witness of the Spirit.
Until next time, Keep holding on to the faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Live simply and Joyfully. Remember, you are just a pilgrim.
